Thrifty Thursday: Paper Crafts Are Cheap and Easy

Friday, January 29th, 2010

One of the rules of grandparenting is that grandchildren are not allowed to be bored. Grandparents should always be able to pull something fun to do out of their bag of tricks. If you have paper and a few simple supplies in the house, you are covered. On a recent Saturday, two of my grandkids and I had great fun with fingerprint art. Try that or another of these easy paper crafts the next time you sense an “I’m bored” just under the surface.

Although supplies for paper crafts are easy on the budget, you can save even more by watching the sales. The best sales are the back-to-school ones, but you can find occasional bargains all through the year. You can save even more by recycling old magazines, catalogs, calendars and junk mail, and you’ll be giving the grands a lesson in green living.
